About

I sell what I've actually done.

I'm Mike Sill. Operator first, consultant second.

HOW I GOT HERE

In 2017, I co-founded Sunday Scaries — a cannabis brand built around the idea that anxiety doesn't have to be medicated with orange pill bottles. We started when we were stressed out owning a bar and grill. We took an idea and made it a reality. Five years later, we were doing $8.4M at peak. Distributed in 4,000 retail doors. Featured in the Netflix movie "Our Little Secret," Forbes, Men's Health, Cosmo. Oh — and the Chainsmokers take our gummies.

Then the federal hemp ban hit. Suddenly an entire category of brands — including mine — was watching a regulation rewrite their P&L. That moment was the wake-up: I'd built something real, but I was one law from getting flattened. I needed to diversify, fast.

So I started doing for other founders what I'd done for myself — building DTC brands from the ground up, scaling the ones that were stuck, and refusing to let them hire another agency that didn't understand the operator seat. That's what Mike Sill Consulting is. It's not theory. It's me, the founder, in your business.

FIVE THINGS I BELIEVE ABOUT DTC RIGHT NOW

  1. Founder content is the only moat AI can't touch.
  2. AI ads will print short-term conversions and then stop working. The brands that survive 2026+ have a real human face. Most founders aren't on camera yet. The window is now.

2. TikTok Shop is the biggest unclaimed channel since Amazon in 2014.

The brands that figure out creators + GMV Max in the next 12 months will compound for years. Most brands haven't even set up a real listing.

3. Most agencies are a tax on founders who don't know what they don't know.

$10K/month for a slide deck and a junior account rep is a scam. I'd rather charge $15K and be one person who actually owns it.

4. The 0→1 founder is a completely different job than the 1→10 operator.

Brands plateau because the founder is still operating like it's launch week at $3M ARR. My job is to spot that and fix it.

5. AI will eat the boring 80% of every ecommerce team's job — soon.

The brands that build automation now will outrun the ones still hiring VAs. Not in five years. In the next 18 months.

OUTSIDE OF WORK

Based in Miami with my wife and our dog. EO South Florida + EO San Diego member. Active in the founder community — if you're a DTC operator in SoCal or South Florida, odds are we've already met or are one intro away. I love padel, golf, yoga, reading, and traveling.

Still operating Sunday Scaries. Still posting TikToks daily. Still very online about ecommerce, mostly on LinkedIn.
